In the luxury sales field, employers increasingly prefer individuals who can personalize the sales experience for clients. The purpose of luxury sales training is to ensure that participants learn and understand the nature of luxury brand process.
According to Carine Roughan, president and founder of LuxMode International, luxury brand consumers tend to have higher expectations of sales people. Luxury sales training involves teaching participants to sell yachts, country club memberships, luxury handbags, real estate, high-end automobiles and jewelry. Luxury sales training can occur on-the-job, or participants can attend off-site seminars and workshops. Training typically focuses on teaching sophisticated sales techniques and how to use verbal and body language.
Education requirements for a luxury sales position vary by sector. However, most employers require that job candidates have at least a bachelor's degree and relevant sales experience, including superior communications skills.
