Phlebotomy Certification Programs in Chicago

"Phlebotomy" refers to the collection of blood samples, which are used in the analysis in patient diagnostic studies. Along with physically collecting blood samples, a trained phlebotomist also processes and transports blood samples to the laboratory for processing. Before obtaining certification as a phlebotomist, individuals must undergo extensive training through an approved program. For Chicago residents, a variety of phlebotomy programs are located conveniently near the city.

The program is designed "for individuals who already have the knowledge and skills to work as medical office assistants and who wish to add this clinical skill to their set of administrative abilities."

As such, individuals must have successfully completed a Medical Office Assistant program to be eligible for enrollment in the phlebotomy program. However, exceptions might be made for individuals who have related work and/or academic experience.
