Houston Community College (HCC) educates truck drivers through the Commercial Truck Driving Center. This center operates a 286-hour truck driving program spread over two courses. Classroom hours are spent learning about state and federal regulations, along with techniques of good driving, followed by behind-the-wheel training with empty and full trailers. HCC maintains a fleet of trucks with different transmissions, trailer lengths and cabins to accommodate student needs. Upon completion of the program, students receive certificates of completion from HCC and the Professional Truck Driving Industry.
