CDL Schools in Pennsylvania

There are many schools and programs offering commercial driver's license training/certification throughout Pennsylvania. Obtaining a commercial driving license (CDL) is the first step in beginning a career in truck driving/commercial transport. This industry is one of the few that hasn't suffered catastrophically due to the economic recession and many CDL schools offer career placement services to help students land their first job.
  1. All State Career School

    • Students can register for various CDL programs at Pittsburgh's All State Career School, including Advanced Tractor Trailer, Class A CDL Preparatory Driving Training, and Class B CDL Driving Training. The school requires students have a high school diploma or a GED. Each prospective student will be given a personal evaluation, a tour of the facility and an opportunity to enroll in the next available class. Financial Aid is available.

SAGE Truck Driving School/Training at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute

    • At the SAGE Truck Driving School in Schnecksville, students can choose from seven different types of CDL courses, from a refresher to advanced training. All applicants are required to complete an application and provide a copy of a valid driver's license and physical examination. Drug screenings are also administered randomly, and students -- if selected -- are required to pass them. Admission is open to high school graduates/GED holders (or those who complete an ability-to-benefit test) who possess a driving record free of current serious violations.

    Transport Tech

    • Transport Tech in Bessemer offers customized training in the form of a 240-hour program for the CDL/tractor trailer permit. The school uses state-of-the-art equipment, offers financial aid in the form of grants/loans, and provides job placement services for graduates. It also has a guarantee; if you don't like the program after the first week of classes, your tuition will be refunded.
