Located in Santa Clarita, California, the College of the Canyons is a public, community-based institution approximately 33 miles northwest of Los Angeles. To enroll in the college's phlebotomy program, students need a high school diploma or GED certificate and must pass a criminal background check and acquire CPR certification. Mission Career College is a private vocational school in Riverside, California. The college's phlebotomy technician program lasts for approximately three months.
