American River's CNA course meets eligibility requirements for the California competency test for CNA certification. You must complete "live scan" fingerprinting prior to enrolling and must have a TB test within the previous six months and a physical examination within the previous year. Course materials are presented through a variety of means, including lecture, demonstration, group study, skill lab practice and clinical experience. Subject matter covers a broad spectrum of health-related topics, including patient rights, nutrition, patient care skills and emergency procedures. Successful completion of the program requires a minimum of 63 hours of theoretical instruction and 135 hours of supervised clinical experience.

The SacMed Training program is an intensive course that provides eligibility for the state certification examination, as well as a no-cost review to help you prepare for the test. The program provides 50 hours of instruction and 100 hours of clinical experience that cover assisting patients with daily living activities, patient safety, body mechanics that ensure the CNA's safety and the CNA's role in the healthcare team. Three scheduling options are available, including weekdays, afternoons and weekends. The cost of books and fingerprinting are included in the class fee.

Kash Career College offers three options in its Certified Nursing Assistant program. The weekday program meets for 25 days, the evening program takes six weeks and the weekend program takes 9.5 weekends. The CNA course provides lectures and clinical experience that qualify students for the state CNA competency examination.
