The Maine School of Masonry is designed to develop students into brick masons with the skills and knowledge of the material to provide gainful employment. The school offers a one-year Mason Apprentice Certificate program running daily (September to June), including a wide range of masonry topics and concerns. To pass, students must complete 1,500 hours of instruction as well as a variety of assigned projects during the course. Students must be 18 or older with a basic foundation in reading, writing and math.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology offers an A.A.S. degree in building construction with an emphasis on masonry that can serve as the education you need to be a brick mason. The program is a blend of technology and management skills using on- and off-campus full-size projects to develop skills. Coursework also includes estimating, drafting and print reading. Students who earn the A.A.S. can use the degree as a foundation for the pursuit of a B.S. as well.

The Masonry Institute of Michigan is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of brick masons and the masonry industry. Founded in 1958, the school strives to provide the best up-to-date design information for architects and structural engineers.
