Missouri Vocational Schools

Missouri residents who want to increase their career opportunities with post-high school training have a wide choice of vocational schools. The schools, located around the state, offer diploma, certificate, and associate's and bachelor's degree programs in career fields ranging from vet assistant and car collision repair to graphic design or medical records.
  1. Vatterott College

    • Vatterott College has seven schools in Missouri, including Springfield. The school offers several degree programs, one of which is the associate of occupational studies. This program covers such occupational fields as welding, dental assisting, diesel mechanics, medical assisting, paralegal, and heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. Vatterott also has diploma, associate of applied science and bachelor of science programs. Not all programs are available at all campuses. Both classroom and online learning opportunities are available. Vatterott is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

    Ranken Technical College

    • Ranken Technical College has been providing students with vocational training for approximately 100 years. Ranken offers associate of technology degrees in such fields as automotive collision repair, carpentry and building construction, and precision machining. It trains students in more than 100 fields in programs that incorporate classroom knowledge with hands-on experience. Ranken also offers a bachelor of science in applied management and architectural technology; and a certificate in plumbing technology.

    Franklin Technology Center

    • Franklin Technology Center has two locations in Joplin. It is operated by the Joplin R-VIII School District and accredited by the North Central Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. It offers post-secondary career training in numerous fields ranging from computer and office technology, to dental and veterinarian assisting to operating room technician to automotive technology and graphic design.

    Missouri College

    • Missouri College in St. Louis has been training students for careers for more than 40 years. It offers programs in business administration, health care, dental and massage therapy. Missouri College offers diploma programs, associate of occupational studies, associate of applied science and a bachelor of arts degree is health care management. The bachelor of arts program is designed for students who already have an associate degree in a health care field and want to get into management of health care organizations such as clinics and hospitals.
