Independence College of Cosmetology offers courses in cosmetology, nails, esthetics and instructor training. Classes are available for full or part-time students. Adam and Eve College of Cosmetology is a smaller school, offering the same basic classes at a more affordable rate. The advantage of a smaller school is a better student to instructor ratio. The college is located two blocks from the main bus line, and only opens on weekdays. Offering full- and part-time courses, this college allows students to work at their own pace. Adam and Eve College of Cosmetology is affiliated with many national, statewide, and local cosmetology associations and partnerships. In preparation for the state licensing exam, Adam and Eve College of Cosmetology teach courses in cosmetology, manicuring and instructor training. A tour of the facilities by appointment is encouraged.
Regency Beauty Institute is a national cosmetology school with four campuses in Missouri, including one in Independence. Regency is similar to the other schools by offering full and part-time classes and financial aid. They are also accredited by NACCAS. Regency has many programs to give their students the competitive edge they need to succeed. House of Heavilin has three locations: in Kansas City, Blue Spring and Raymore. Classes are Tuesday through Saturday for full-time students. Financial aid in the form of Pell Grants and direct student loans are offered to students who qualify. In addition, scholarships are presented by House of Heavilin to high school seniors who demonstrate a desire to enter the field of cosmetology.
