Longview's Lower Columbia College offers trade programs in the automotive, construction, engineering and technology fields. Diesel, auto and heavy equipment mechanics; construction engineering; heating, ventilating, air conditioning; welding, wood science; communications and mechanical engineering, data processing, instrumentation, machine tool and wastewater management technology are offered in associate's degree programs.
Longview's Stylemaster College of Hair Design offers programs in cosmetology, cosmetology and related grooming arts, barber, styling and nail instructor. The school is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission for Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Cosmetology course work involves 1,650 class hours. Manicuring course work involves 600 class hours. Administration, such as cosmetology laws and cosmetic chemistry, is included in all course work at Stylemaster.
Cosmetology Careers Unlimited in Portand, Oregon, is owned and operated by the owner of Stylemaster College of Hair Design, John S. Chilson. The school offers programs in hair design, cosmetology, skin and make-up esthetics technology and nail technology. Administration is included in all course work.
Portland Community College in Portland offers associate degree programs in agribusiness; automotive; construction; communications technology; industrial, mechanical and civil engineering; instrument and computer technology; drafting, printing and metal work; biotechnology; heating, ventilation, air conditioning and air transport equipment operations. The school has campuses in downtown Portland, near Hillsboro, close to Tigard and close Lake Oswego. Athletic scholarships are available.
