Also located in Tyler, the Stone School of Massage is a private, for-profit trade school about 39 miles from Longview (approximately 55 minutes by automobile). The college offers a 500-hour massage training program. Required courses include physiology, anatomy, hydrotherapy, business practices, pathology and hygiene. All students must complete a 50-hour internship prior to completing the program. Classes are available during the day or evenings as well as in an ever-other weekend format. The school does not participate in government financial aid programs, but interest-free payment plans and private loans are available.
