How to Register for a Graduate Record Examination

Register Online

  Register online at www.gre.org to expedite the process.

  Create an account with the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Once complete, you'll be able to register for the GRE general test and any subject tests you desire to take.

  Select a test location, date and time. When prompted, indicate the institution to which you want your scores sent.

  Pay for registration fee and then print your admission ticket.

Register by Mail

  Register by mail. Download and print the authorization voucher form from the ETS website (www.gre.org).

  Pay for your test by providing credit card information or enclosing a check or money order.

  Mail the authorization voucher form and your payment, if necessary, to the address on the voucher.

  Allow four weeks for the delivery of your voucher. When you received it in the mail, call to schedule an appointment for the test before the voucher expires.

Register by Phone

  Call 1-800-GRE-CALL. You will be connected to an automated test registration center if you indicate you want to register for the GRE.

  Follow the prompts that will require that you select a test(s), location, date and time. Indicate the institution that you'd like your scores sent to.

  Provide payment in the form of a credit card. Your registration ticket will be mailed to your home address or provided via email.
