The George Washington University has an accelerated doctorate program that leads to a Ph.D. in either engineering management or systems engineering. This program can be completed in three years with the actual coursework being completed in one year. This program is ideal for students who work full time or have busy schedules during the week; classes are conducted on the weekends and include coursework such as engineering law; systems engineering; marketing of technology; and organizational behavior for engineering. Students will also take courses such as technical enterprises and problems in engineering management and systems engineering.

Georgetown University offers an accelerated Ph.D. program in Arabic and Islamic studies. This program is designed for students who have already attained their bachelor's degree in a field that is not related to Arabic and Islamic studies. This accelerated program is designed to be completed in approximately two years; students have up to five years to complete the program if they have a master's degree. Students will take courses that include introduction to Islamic civilization; introduction to Arabic and Islamic studies; readings in Sufism; and introduction to the Hadith. Students will also take courses such as the Qur'an in history; women in the Qur'an; and Islamic thought on the eve of modernity.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has an accelerated B.S./Ph.D. program that provides students with the opportunity to earn both degrees in seven years. Students who enroll in this program will not need to apply to the graduate program since they will already be admitted from the beginning after they applied at the end of their freshman year. Students who are enrolled in this program will graduate to doctorate status around their fourth year in the program; the exact timing is based on the number of credits each individual has thus far. Students in this program can choose to major in a variety of sciences including chemistry; physics; computer science; biology; and biochemistry and biophysics.
