Located in Portland, the Maine Medical Center offers an 11-week CNA program. The 200-hour program contains lengthy classroom and practical instruction. Classes meet during the day Monday through Friday. Patient safety, infection control, nutrition, communication, hygiene, first aid and CPR are taught throughout the course of the program. Interested parties must attend the program's information session to be considered for admission to the class. All students must have completed a high school diploma or have earned a GED to qualify for admission.

Day classes include three weeks of classroom instruction, while evening classes include five weeks of class time. Both schedules include one week at a clinical site to practice basic nursing skills learned in the classroom.
