RN Programs in Minnesota

In order to practice nursing in the state of Minnesota, practitioners must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The independently proctored test typically contains multiple-choice questions, body part identification and an ordered listing of nursing practices. In order to pass the NCLEX-RN, prospective nurses must obtain a bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing or attend an approved nursing program.
  1. University of Minnesota School of Nursing

    • The University of Minnesota offers two RN programs in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Each program uses a combination of classroom experience and in-field practice to ensure that students are best prepared for their careers as nurses. The first program is a traditional four-year program that culminates in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The curriculum includes nutrition, basic science and clinical practice. The second program grants graduates a Master in Nursing at the end of their 16-month study. The program is intended for those who have previously obtained a Bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field. Both programs prepare students to take the NCLEX-RN.
