The primary care physician assistant program at the University of Southern California confers a master of physician assistant practice. Students matriculate in the fall and attend the program for 33 months. Mandatory prerequisite courses include general biology with lab, general chemistry with lab, one of anatomy, physiology or microbiology with lab, statistics, introductory psychology, English composition and at least two semesters of beginning Spanish. Other requirements include a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA, community service and three letters of recommendation. Applicants may choose to submit either Graduate Record Exam scores, with a minimum combined score of 1000, or Medical College Admission Test scores (minimum not specified), for the entrance exam requirement.
