Physician Assistant Residency Programs

Physician assistants practice medicine under the supervision of doctors. These health care professionals must complete two-year programs, with many programs existing at the master's degree level. They then can gain strong hands-on experience through physician assistant residency programs. Employment of physician assistants is expected to increase by 39 percent through 2018 and median annual wages of physician assistants in May 2008 were $81,230, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Several residency programs across the country are available for physician assistants in various specialty areas.
