Create a title page for the abstract. The title page should include the title of the paper, the author's name and the institutional affiliation. This should be centered; the title should be 12 words or less and the author's name is simply her name with no title or degrees. The title page should also have a page header. On the title page, the header will say: Running Head: (Title of your work) on the left and the page number to the right. For every page thereafter, you will have simply the title of the work and the page number.
Example:
Running Head: Mitochondrial Mutation in Genetic Testing, 1
Mitochondrial Mutation in Genetic Testing
Author: Joe Smith
University of the New South
Summarize the content of the paper on the next page, which should be an abstract page. It will carry the header that was placed on the title page, as well as the word "Abstract" centered prior to the write-up to identify it as such. The abstract should be between 150 and 200 words. Indenting the paragraphs here is considered improper
Provide the content of the paper. This is where all of the research is described in detail. Make sure all of the supporting information is included here, such as tables and graphs.
Cite your references. This will incorporate the people and bodies of work used to help compile the information. Citations should be in APA style, with hanging indentation in alphabetical order. Author names are inverted, and all major words in journal titles are capitalized.
