Compose your paper's title page. At the center of the page, type the paper's title. Beneath the title, type your name, making sure to omit formal titles such as "Dr." Lastly, type the name of the educational institution to which the paper is being submitted.
Write your paper's introduction. The introductory page, also commonly referred to as "the abstract page," should feature a comprehensive overview of the key points discussed in your paper.
Present your arguments objectively. Psychological debate papers must be devoid of the author's personal feelings on the subject matter. In addition, make sure to steer clear of metaphorical terms and colloquialisms.
Cite your sources properly. When mentioning one of your sources in the body of the paper, refer to them simply by their last names. Since it is assumed that they are licensed psychologists, there is no need to include such titles as "Dr." or "Ph.D." If you happen to be using two sources who share the same last name, you may use their respective first names to help readers differentiate between the two. When making reference to a particular body of work, include the name of the paper or publication, as well as the year the work was published. When referencing an interview or speech, include the year a statement was made or an idea was shared.
Compile your references page. Your references will need to be listed in alphabetical order. A typical reference listing will begin with the psychologist's last name followed by her first and middle initials. Beside the initials, type the date of the doctor's book or paper publication in parentheses followed by a period. Next, type the publication's title, making sure to capitalize only the first word in the title. Follow this with a period.
