Begin the cover page with a page header at the very top. Start with the text that is aligned to the left, an abbreviated title of the work. The words "Running head" should precede the title. On the same line, but aligned to the right, place the page number. Print the abbreviated title in all caps. For example, "Running head: TITLE OF THE WORK."
Continue the cover page by placing the full title of the paper, the author's name and the institutional affiliation a third of the way down on the page, with a center alignment. Capitalize all the significant words in the title.
Print the author's name on a separate line immediately beneath the title of the work. Include the author's first name, middle initial and last name. Do not include titles like Dr. or Ms. The institutional affiliation included on the cover page, also printed on a separate line, should indicate where the author conducted the research.
Double space all text on the cover page, including a title that is longer than one line. However, the title should be no more than two lines long, and should contain no abbreviations or useless words that do not reflect the work.
