Create a blank document in your word processor. The document should have one-inch margins and all text should be double spaced. APA recommends 12-point Times New Roman font.
Enter approximately five double-spaced lines from the beginning of the document. APA style requires your title page text to be centered in the upper half of the page. In addition, all text on the main title page should be center aligned.
Type the title of your document, capitalizing each word. The title may span one or two lines, but should be no more than twelve words in length. You may title your paper "Peer Review of...," with the title of the text you are reviewing replacing the ellipses.
Type your name directly beneath the title, using the the following format: first name, middle initial, last name. Titles or degrees should not be included.
Type your institutional affiliation directly below your name. For most papers, this is the institution where you conducted your research or where you are principally employed.
Assign a "running head" to your paper. The running head is a shortened version of your title, usually 50 characters or fewer. On the first page, the text "Running head:" should be placed flush-left in the header and followed by your running head in all capital letters. On subsequent pages, do not include the text "Running head:". The page number should appear flush-right in the header of all pages.
