Find the exact page where the information is located in the document. APA style requires the page number, along with author and publication date.
Insert the page number into the parenthetical citation. The page number always goes after the information cited, regardless of where the author and publishing date are. The author and publishing date may remain the same between the two citation styles.
Place a comma between the author(s), date, and page number. A parenthetical citation following the information cited would look like this: (Doe, Smith, 2001, p.110). Note that the period goes outside the parentheses.
Insert revision dates with a slash after the original publication date, e.g.. "1943/1998."
Remove the date of publication from the end of the entry.
Place the year of publication in parenthesis directly after the period following the name of the author(s).
Insert information about volume, edition, reprints or multiple-volume works in parentheses directly after the title of the work cited. Use the abbreviations "vol." for volume; "Eds." for edited collections; "ed." for edition, e.g., 5th ed. Be as specific as possible: Include the actual page numbers when citing a report or paper published as part of a larger work.
Place all URLs at the end of the entry.
