The University of Bridgeport's College of Naturopathic Medicine is a non-profit institution that offers students a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree. This is a full-time four-year program, and students are required to take standard classes plus laboratory and clinical training. Students will not be able to pursue this degree on part-time basis. Coursework includes anatomy, embryology, phytopharmacognosy, biochemistry, hydrotherapy, pathology, public health and epidemiology. Students must complete 36 credit-hours of clinical training and 202.7 credit-hours overall.

The Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences offers students either a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree or a combination Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine/Master of Acupuncture degree. For the latter degree, students must take courses at both SCNM and the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine. The school also offers non-degree credit courses, and students in this program may not take more than four credits per quarter. Coursework includes epidemiology, hydrotherapy, homeopathic medicine, Oriental medicine, nutrition and mind-body medicine. Both degree-granting programs are four-year programs, and students are required to participate in clinical training.

Bastyr University's Naturopathic Medicine Degree Program can take between four and six years, and students who complete the program will receive a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Or, students may pursue a dual ND/AOM (acupuncture and Oriental medicine) degree. Students also have the opportunity to take advantage of an on-site residency program once they graduate. The school also participates in research programs throughout the year, allowing students to earn hands-on experience. Coursework includes gross human anatomy, histology, embryology, biochemistry, history of naturopathic medicine, myofascial analysis and counseling. Students are required to complete 310.5 credits, including 47 clinical credits. The school prefers students that already have either actual work or volunteer health-care experience.

The National University of Health Sciences Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine prepares students to work as licensed naturopathic doctors. Curriculum focuses on clinical nutrition, botanical medicines, homeopathy, histology, anatomy, biochemistry, psychology and alternative treatments. The school offers a Flexible Track Curriculum that allows students to study at their own pace, and this degree program may be taken on a full-time or part-time basis. Students must complete 48 credit-hours of prerequisites before they will be admitted into the program, and these credit-hours include chemistry, psychology, English, biological sciences and physics.
