The Naturopathic Medical Program at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education and utilizes a holistic approach to teaching as well as to medicine. The school accepts only 36 students each year and has only 150 students and more than 50 faculty members in the school at any given time. This small academic community provides opportunities for individualized instruction from faculty members as well as one-on-one interactions with students in upper-level courses. The program is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, and provides 3,500 hours of in-class learning and 1,500 hours of clinical experience. Full-time students complete the program in four years, while part-time students are allotted six years to complete the required course of study. Students take courses in a number of modern medical courses, such as diagnostic imaging, oncology, pathology, obstetrics and pharmacology. Naturopathic courses include homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, nutrition, massage and traditional oriental medicine. (Reference 3)
