Schools for Naturopathic Doctors

A naturopathic doctor (N.D.) uses both conventional theory and natural remedies to diagnose and treat patient illnesses and diseases. Naturopathic doctors treat the underlying conditions that cause symptoms; focus on the patient's holistic well-being; and advise on disease prevention. These doctors are licensed as health-care providers in 15 states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. State laws determine the naturopath's scope of care, including prescriptive and hospital privileges, and educational routes. To become a naturopathic doctor in any jurisdiction, you must attend an accredited school of naturopathic medicine.
