This school in western Canada only accepts 36 students per year, guaranteeing a small class size. About 150 students attend the school at any given time, and the faculty to student ratio is around three to four students per professor. Most students stay with the school for the duration of their studies. According to the Boucher Institute, Asian medicine is integrated into the curriculum, unlike other schools that require a separate degree program in order to practice acupuncture.

The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), located near Toronto has approximately 480 students. The school offers three majors: biomedical sciences, clinical sciences and naturopathic therapeutics. These majors all lead to the Naturopathic Doctor degree. CCNM has a financial aid office and students can use both Canadian and U.S. federal student loans at the school. For eligible students, scholarships are also available. Additionally, the college operates the CCNM Integrated Healthcare Centre and the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. Students receive clinical experience in both locations.

While Canada has only two accredited naturopathic colleges, there are schools near the Canadian border in Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Seattle is home to Bastyr University, which awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as well as degrees in nutrition, herbal sciences and health psychology. The National College of Natural Medicine is in Portland, Oregon, and is a graduate school, offering master’s and doctoral degrees.
