    California College of Ayurveda

    • The California College of Ayurveda (CCA) notes on its website that it is the longest-running state-approved college for the study of Ayurvedic medicine in the United States. Ayurveda is a form of medicine that originated in India some 5,000 years ago and is focused on holistic healing by way of diet, aromatherapy and herbal remedies.

Graduates of CCA become certified as Clinical Ayurvedic Specialists, and students progress through three levels of training. Level one is for an Ayurvedic Health Educator and is designed for individuals with no prior knowledge of Ayurveda. Level one training can be completed on campus or via distance learning. Level two training builds on level one training by teaching students how to diagnose and manage disease by applying Ayurvedic theory. Graduates of the level two program can move on to level three, the clinical internship program, which prepares students to practice as Ayurvedic health practitioners.
