Carrington College, formerly known as Apollo College, offers technical education programs in dental assisting and dental hygiene. The Carrington College dental assistant program provides education for individuals interested in working in the clinical, administrative and laboratory side of dental medicine. The dental hygiene program is designed to train future dental hygienists to work directly with patients, cleaning teeth and taking X-rays.

As part of Idaho State University's Master of Sciences in Dental Hygiene and post-doctoral training residency, ISU maintains a residency clinic in Boise focused on allowing dental-health majors to practice general dental care and surgery on patients. As the only post-graduate dental program offered in the state of Idaho, ISU's residency clinic is staffed by licensed dentists.
