The College of Southern Idaho offers a two-year associate of applied science and a one-year technical certificate in welding technology. This program consists of hands-on instruction in stick welding, plate and pipe testing, blueprint reading, industrial safety protocols, machining operations, material management, ornamental iron work and metal forging. General education coursework in communications, math, management and leadership, professional development and computer applications are also required.
