Advanced Welding Schools

Advanced welding is an in-demand skill that has the potential for high pay. Learning the trade requires hands-on instruction and extreme concentration. Some advanced welders develop specialty skills such as underwater welding while others learn to work with large scale materials and difficult structures. Welding skills can be applied to many conditions.

    • The Advanced Welding Institute is in South Burlington, Vermont. The school uses a combination of classroom work and hands-on training to teach advanced skills. Students must complete and pass written and physical tests in order to graduate from the program. The school is an accredited career college and offers full- and part-time training courses. Upon completion of the multiple courses, students will receive multiple certifications.

    Keen Gas

    • Keen Gas is in Wilmington, Delaware, and in addition to the welding school, Keen offers various industrial services. The welding school is divided into sections based on skill level. Courses are available for beginner, intermediate and advanced welding. The classes are typically two full days of classroom and hands on instruction. The advanced courses focus on MIG and TIG welding techniques. Courses are also available for Gas Tungsten Arc welding and Gas Metal Arc welding.

    Advanced Welding Techniques

    • Advanced Welding Techniques is in Ontario, Canada. The school offers several intensive programs for advanced welding. The programs are available in eight-, 12- and 16-week programs that provide multiple levels of certification. The school also provides job placement services and has a focus on career advancement. Students will be taught in a classroom setting and in the school welding shop. Students must pass advanced techniques tests in order to pass the courses and receive certification.

    Western Technical College

    • Western Technical College offers an advanced welding course in El Paso, Texas. The course covers advanced skills in detail and all students must be able to demonstrate and explain advanced techniques. It is a 15-month course if attended full time or 23 months of evening classes. Students will obtain a variety of certifications and will be prepared to enter a welding career field. In addition to the courses, students will receive a tool kit and have the opportunity to participate in an internship to gain experience in the field.
