Bellingham Technical College offers a welding technology course focused on aluminum, steel, pipes and structural fabrication. BTC offers a certificate in basic welding skills and industrial welding. Students can also achieve an associate degree in applied science.
The Native American Fabricators Welding School provides training for qualified new welders and re-trains/upgrades experienced welders. All successful applicants are trained to the Washington Association of Building Officials and United Association procedures and standards. The school is situated in Bellingham.
Western Washington University offers several welding courses through its technological and environmental studies department. The machine/wood shop section provides metal, plastics and wood fabrication, along with finishing courses. These courses fall under the Scientific Technical Services department.
ECC offers many welding courses both big and small. This includes the I-Best Welding Trades Training, which sets students up for entry-level positions in welding. It is not available every quarter, so check course schedules. Courses include flux core welding/wire feed, aluminum and stick electrode. The college also provides job placement assistance.
