The college grants a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior architecture, which requires students to complete seven design studio courses and a senior research project. The private, nonsectarian college opened in 1931 and grants a bachelor's degree in interior design. The four-year program features coursework in business, design history, drafting and computer design. To graduate, students participate in an internship or complete a senior design project. Study abroad is offered in France, England and Ireland. The college's career services department offers programs throughout the year that bring in recruiters for large design-related companies.

The public, four-year college has more than 51,000 undergraduate and graduate students and opened in 1851 as a land grant institution. Before obtaining official admission to the college's bachelor of science in interior design program, students must complete classes in design theory and color as well as two studio classes. Those that receive admission to the program then study architecture, communications, business and psychology. An internship, a design project and a senior research paper are all requirements for graduation.
