The Architecture of Boston (4 credits)
Boston played a major role in the architectural history of the United States. Learn about the design and architecture of historical Boston from its beginnings to present time. Study the urban landscape and dwellings in and around Boston. Discover the works of famous designers and architects including Charles Bulfinch, H.H. Richardson, Frederick Law Olmstead, Charles McKim and others. Course tuition is $2,580 for credit (undergraduate and graduate) and noncredit.
Summer Seminar--Rome and St. Peter's (4 credits)
Learn about the architecture of Rome with special emphasis on the Vatican from the ancient times to present. The first part of the course focuses on the radical changes in architecture and urban development that occurred in Rome during ancient times. The second part focuses on the design and artworks that highlight Rome and the Vatican today including Michelangelo's Sistine ceiling. Course tuition is $2,580 for undergraduate credit only.
Drawing Into Painting (4 credits)
Learn the process in making oil paintings. Focus on the integration of drawing and painting objects for several specialized projects. Course tuition is $2,580 for credit (undergraduate and graduate) and noncredit.
Summer Seminar--The Book as Art: Working with Letters, Ink, and Paper (4 credits)
Explore language both orally and visually where words can become poetic verses and at the same time represent visual images. Project work includes designing a modernized alphabet book and creating a poem extracting verses from a series of existing poems. Course is $2,580 for undergraduate credit only.
Mixed Media (4 credits)
Examine contemporary art by means of slide and video presentations and reading assignments. Work on two- and three-dimensional projects relative to contemporary art. Course tuition is $2,580 for credit (undergraduate and graduate) and noncredit.

Learn about artists of the 20th and 21st centuries and their wide ranging themes and artistic designs. Create original drawings representing the views of the experimental artwork. Course tuition is $2,580 for credit (undergraduate and graduate) and noncredit.
Study Abroad in Venice, Italy: Topics in Italian Renaissance Art (4 credits)
Study major works of art and sculpture abroad in Venice, Italy. Visit and explore museums and exhibitions with a focus on Venetian Renaissance art between ca. 1300 and 1600. In order to take this course, students must enroll in two courses for credit from a curriculum spanning environmental studies, economics and humanities.
