Harvard's Summer School features nearly a dozen courses focusing on creative writing, all of which can be taken for undergraduate credit and some of which can be taken for graduate credit. Available courses include Beginning Fiction, Beginning Poetry, Legal Writing and Effective Business Communication. Advanced Fiction courses are also available which focus on particular facets of creative writing like short story and novel writing. Courses are also offered in other writing disciplines, including expository writing and journalism.
Several courses in foreign languages are offered annually by Harvard Summer School. French courses range from beginning French, French reading for knowledge and oral expression, to intermediate French. Language instruction is also available in Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Celtic and Hindi. A wide variety of five- to 10-week study abroad language programs are also offered each year, allowing students cultural exposure and the opportunity to master a foreign language in a real world setting.
Harvard Summer School offers classes ranging from introductory surveys of core business topics to in-depth seminars for graduate student credit. Available courses include principals of finance, international economics, electronic commerce strategies, and international marketing. Two information systems management courses are also offered, covering the basics of integrated productivity software and information systems design, each based on the latest in systems technology.
