Health Informatics Masters Degree Programs

Health informatics brings together computer science, information science and health care to acquire, store and retrieve data with the goal of making health care more efficient. A master's degree is the standard entry-level degree for the field. Schools with strong medical and nursing programs typically offer advanced degrees in health informatics.
  1. University of Illinois at Chicago

    • The University of Illinois at Chicago has several informatics programs related to the health care industry. These include health informatics, health care IT, medical informatics, health information management, nursing and pharmacy informatics. The university offers an on line Master of Science in Health Informatics degree that requires completion of 45 credit hours. The degree has both research and a non-research tracks. Courses required by both tracks include health care data, ethics and legal issues, health care information systems, social and organizational issues and health care IT and vendor management.
