Azusa Pacific University is a private, evangelical Christian university located in Azusa, California, northeast of Los Angeles. APU offers a fully accredited, accelerated nursing degree program. This program begins with students taking bachelor's degree-level courses to obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. The program entitles students to take the National Council Licensure Examination to become licensed registered nurses. It takes about 15 months to complete the bachelor's degree program, not including any prerequisite classes. Upon passing the exam, students are awarded bachelor's degrees in nursing and are admitted to the master's degree program at APU. Once in the master's program, students choose an area of emphasis: clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, parish nursing or school nurse services. The classes students take are determined by the area of emphasis that they choose. The master's degree program takes one to two years to complete. Graduates of this program earn Master of Science in Nursing degrees.
