The Master of Accountancy online program, operated by Saint Joseph's College of Maine, offers 12 classes in 10-week sections. Among the courses are financial standards and analysis, legal environment, accounting information systems, taxation, audit, advanced management accounting, international accounting and corporate financial management. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree. Any field is acceptable, but students without a major in accounting must take additional courses in financial accounting, macroeconomics, managerial accounting and introduction to finance. Credits may be waived for undergraduate work. Applicants must have had an undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.5. An Internet connection is required.

Earn an online Master of Business Administration with an accounting specialization from Capella University. The two-year program (students have up to four years to finish) includes courses in marketing and brand management, financial management, accounting, strategy, budget planning and control, audit and control of accounting information systems, accounting information for decision making and applied managerial statistics. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum grade point average of 2.3. Rutgers Business School is the only college to offer an online Master's Degree in Governmental Accounting. The 10-course program may be completed part-time and includes classes in accounting for managers, governmental accounting and auditing, public sector auditing, capital budgeting, government budgeting systems, ethical issues in public financial management, local government financial administration and management control in nonprofit organizations. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or heavy coursework in accounting and two letters of recommendation. Two years of full-time accounting experience is recommended.
