RN Vocational Schools

RN vocational schools are educational institutions that offer career training programs in nursing. These programs train students in various nursing concepts and prepares them for RN certification exams. Most vocational schools offer diploma and certificate programs in nursing and generally take two years of full-time study to complete.     Cochran School of Nursing

    • Cochran School of Nursing is located in Yonkers, New York, just north of Manhattan. This school was founded in 1894 and is housed in the north wing of St. John's Riverside Hospital. The RN program is a hospital-based program that will lead to an associate's degree in nursing. This 70 credit programs take two years to complete. Some of the classes in the program include foundations of nursing practice, introduction to psychology, nutrition, maternity nursing and nursing of children. Students can be exempt from certain classes depending on their experience and credit based on an examination. Graduates are able to sit for the RN national certification exam (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a RN license.

    • Springfield Regional School of Nursing was founded in 1887 and is located in Springfield, Ohio. The school in approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The school offers a two-year diploma program in nursing and graduates will have the necessary skills to pass the RN national certification exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed RN. Some of the classes in the RN program include pharmacological math, nursing informatics, microbiology, nursing and lifespan development. The schools offer advanced placement into the program for LPNs.
