Cochran School of Nursing is located in Yonkers, New York, just north of Manhattan. This school was founded in 1894 and is housed in the north wing of St. John's Riverside Hospital. The RN program is a hospital-based program that will lead to an associate's degree in nursing. This 70 credit programs take two years to complete. Some of the classes in the program include foundations of nursing practice, introduction to psychology, nutrition, maternity nursing and nursing of children. Students can be exempt from certain classes depending on their experience and credit based on an examination. Graduates are able to sit for the RN national certification exam (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a RN license.
