Since 1984 U.S. News & World Report has rated the University of Washington as the nation's top nursing school. The 2009-10 class included just over 600 undergrads and graduate students. The school offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 19 different master's specialties, including nursing midwifery, medical-surgical clinical nursing and psychiatric/mental-health nursing. In 2008, the school received $7 million in research funding from the National Institutes of Health. The school is home to multiple research centers, including the Center for Women's Health and Gender Research and the Center on Infant Mental Health and Development.
