York College of Pennsylvania is a four-year private liberal arts college located in York. York College offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees. The college enrolls approximately 5,000 students in a wide variety of programs such as accounting, business administration, education and pre-law. York College has been located in York since the 1700s.
York is home to one of the many campuses of the Penn State University system. Located right in downtown York, the public four-year college awards associate's and bachelor's degrees in many disciplines such as communications, English, business and information technology. Courses taken at the York campus can be transferred to other Penn State campuses, if desired.
Located in North York, the Harrisburg Area Community College is a branch of the larger community college located in Harrisburg. You can attend the two-year school to obtain an associates degree or to earn transferable credits to a four-year institution where you can continue your education for a bachelor's degree. The college offers numerous certificates and diplomas in many areas. HACC has an open enrollment policy, and about 3,000 students were enrolled at the York campus in 2010. HACC offers day, evening and weekend classes.
