The state of Florida affords its nursing students multiple opportunities to compete for scholarship awards. These scholarships serve to relieve some of the financial burden of paying for a nursing degree while also attracting students to a field that is in constant need of highly trained professionals.
  1. Jennet Colliflower Keys Nursing Scholarship

    • The Jennet Colliflower Keys Nursing Scholarship is awarded to deserving nursing students attending accredited colleges and universities in Florida. Nursing students in their junior or senior year are eligible to apply for the $1,000 awards. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, volunteer/work experience, financial need and commitment to a nursing career.

    Florida Nurses Association Scholarships

    • The Florida Nurses Association administers nearly 30 scholarship and grant opportunities for Florida nursing students. Scholarships and grants are available for nursing students from all regions of the state--individual award amounts vary based on the availability of funding. While there may be specific requirements for individual awards, all students are considered on the basis of academic achievement, career goals and financial need.

    Memorial Healthcare System Nursing Scholarship

    • The Memorial Healthcare System Nursing Scholarship is open to nursing students in Florida who are in at least their second semester of enrollment in a bachelors degree program. Students may receive scholarships of $6,000 or $12,000 in return for a one- or two-year service commitment to the Memorial Healthcare System after graduation.

    Haitian American Nurses Association Scholarships

    • The Haitian American Nurses Association offers scholarships to nursing students of Haitian descent who are currently enrolled in accredited nursing degree programs in Florida. Applicants must possess a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit an essay outlining their career goals and reasons for pursuing a career in nursing. Recipients are selected after an interview process and the award amount varies based on the availability of funding.

    March of Dimes Nursing Scholarships

    • The March of Dimes Foundation offers scholarships to registered nurses who are pursuing graduate degrees in maternal-child nursing at Florida colleges and universities. To be eligible for the $5,000 award, applicants must also be a member of a professional nursing association, such as the Association of Women's Health, the American College of Nurse-Midwives or the National Association of Neonatal Nurses.
