Grants for Hispanics in Florida

The lack of financial resources should not be an obstacle for dedicated individuals to fulfill their goals. In the state of Florida, there are organizations devoted to strengthening racial minorities by providing them with the financial resources (grants) to fulfill their objectives. Most of the grants for Hispanics in Florida are academic scholarships based on the need and qualifications of the applicant.
  1. Florida Funds for Minority Teachers

    • The Florida Funds for Minority Teachers gives scholarships to Hispanic and members of other minorities who are willing to become teachers in Florida. These scholarships (as of March 2010) are $4,000 per academic year; candidates may renew their scholarships for three consecutive years as long as they are enrolled full time and keep a 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA).

Applicants must be accepted in a participating college or hold an Associate in Arts degree to be eligible. Applicants should not hold an undergraduate degree or should not have taken more than 18 hours of upper division credits prior to applying. The deadlines to apply are July 1 and November 15 for the fall and spring terms respectively.
