Scholarships for Mexican Minorities

According to the Sallie Mae Fund, billions of dollars are given out each year through scholarships to students pursuing higher education. Scholarships are a way to receive free monies that do not need to be repaid at any time. Scholarships often are based on certain criteria such as gender, area of study, religion, college of choice or even ethnic backgrounds. There are many scholarships available to Hispanic students to assist them in the costs of obtaining higher education.
  1. Hispanic Scholarship Fund

    • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers a wide variety of scholarships for Hispanic students. Scholarships are grouped into three different programs: scholarship programs for graduating high school seniors, college scholarship programs and community college transfer programs. Each program then has a breakdown of multiple scholarships available based on the criteria of that program. There are some basic requirements for all scholarships, such as those applying must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Most scholarships require that the student have a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, have applied for Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and plan to enroll full time at an accredited college.
