Scholarships for Minorities in Chicago

Your race or gender should not hold you back from getting a higher education. Whether you're an athlete, an artist, a musician, or want to become a teacher or computer programmer--nothing should stand in your way no matter what you want to do in life. Luckily, for residents of Chicago, there are a few scholarships available for minority students.
  1. Chicago Association of Black Journalists

    • The Chicago Association of Black Journalists offers the Russ Ewing Excellence Award in journalism as well other scholarships to those who are of African American decent and show great writing skills or journalistic reporting capabilities on television. The Russ Ewing Scholarship was created in 2003 in honor of Russ Ewing, who won an Emmy Award for the first story that he reported. He was known as a very ethical reporter, and this scholarship looks to reward those who have a high standard of ethics in their writing and reporting.
