UK International Grants

There are many scholarships available for United States citizens studying abroad in the United Kingdom. There are scholarships from corporations, schools, non-profit organizations, charities and private donors. There are awards for specific fields of study, merit-based grants for the academically inclined, and need-based scholarships for those that demonstrate financial need. It's just a matter of finding the best scholarship to suit your needs as an international student and doing all you can to get it.
  1. Fulbright Scholarship

    • The Fulbright Scholar Program provides scholarships to outstanding United States citizens who wish to study abroad. The goal of the Fulbright Scholarship is to improve relations between the United States and foreign countries. To qualify, you must be extremely academically successful, possess excellent leadership qualities and participate in civic activities. The award amount is generally full tuition and fees at a participating college or university.

    University of Westminster International Scholarship

    • The University of Westminster International Scholarship is offered by the University of Westminster in England to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student from abroad. To qualify, you must demonstrate financial need, be academically advanced and possess excellent leadership qualities. The award amount is between £1,000 and £4,000 per academic year.

    Glasgow Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship

    • The Glasgow Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship is awarded to fifty international undergraduate students by the University of Glasgow in Scotland. To qualify, you must be studying education, the arts, engineering, science or social sciences, and you must have excellent international qualifications like a high GPA or above-average test scores. All students who meet these criteria are automatically considered for the scholarship. The award amount is roughly £3,000 per academic year.

    International Office Scholarship

    • The International Office Scholarship is offered to an outstanding international undergraduate or graduate student at Swansea University in Wales. To qualify, you must be a first-time student at Swansea from a non-EU country, you must show strong academic ability, be financially needy, and you must not be getting any other aid from the university. The award amount is roughly £1,000 per academic year.
