Pennsylvania Grants & Scholarships

A variety of educational grants and scholarships are available to residents of Pennsylvania who are pursuing college degrees. They come from a variety of sources, including state government and state professional associations. Many Pennsylvania scholarships require that a student be pursuing a certain type of degree, and some also require that a student work in Pennsylvania for a certain period of time after graduation.
  1. Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Scholarship Program

    • The state government provides scholarship assistance to college-bound students through the Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Scholarship Program. This scholarship provides the equivalent of one semester's tuition at a state university, about $2,500. However, it may be used to pay for tuition at either a public or private university. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior from Pennsylvania, must be planning to attend college in Pennsylvania, must have a high school grade point average of at least 3.0 and must be able to demonstrate financial need. To be eligible for scholarship renewal, a student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 during his freshman college year and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 for each year thereafter. The annual deadline for application is March 1.
