Brevard Community College has a foundation that offers a range of scholarships for women and men. Two are specifically for women. According to the Chair of The Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club Foundation Scholarship Program, its scholarship is available to women returning to the workforce. Applicants are selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. The award is up to $1,000. The $500 Geoffrey & Betty Millward Scholarship for Business & Management is awarded to full-time women students who have at least a 3.2 GPA.

Brevard County women and men who are either residents or have graduated from a Brevard County high school are eligible for the $1,000 Brecht Scholarship. The applicant must have been accepted to a community college, college or university in the state of Florida and be enrolled in a full-time degree seeking program. She must have at least a 2.0 GPA, good moral character, and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Female students graduating from Brevard County high schools are eligible to apply for scholarships funded by the Brevard Schools Foundation. The availability of these stipends require the submission of the applicant’s transcript and awards both students of specific high schools and athletic and scholastic excellence. The requirements range widely, as do the monetary amounts, depending on the scholarship.

The Zonta Club of Melbourne sponsors a needs-based scholarship for Brevard County women who desire to enrich their lives through education. Scholarships may cover up to 100 percent of the cost to those who qualify. The amount of the award is determined by the HUD household income limits. Women who are either enrolling in college for the first time or returning to college, either full or part time are eligible.
