Public colleges in Georgia are located throughout the state --- schools are scattered across many counties such as Chatham, Muscogee, Camden and Augusta-Richmond, for example. These institutions provide prospective full or part-time students with the opportunity to obtain financial assistance through grants, scholarships and even students loans.
  1. Savannah State University

    • Located near the state of Georgia's Interstates 516 and 16 in Savannah, Georgia, Savannah State University is on College Street only minutes from Harry S. Truman Parkway. The school awards undergraduate degrees in various subject areas such as marketing, computer information systems and management, political science, and social work --- the campus also has an on-site pool, fitness center and multiple basketball and tennis courts. Savannah State also awards master's degrees in marine science, as well.

    Columbus State University

    • Just a short drive east of Interstate 185 in Columbus, Georgia, Columbus State University is located on University Avenue near Algonquin Drive. Offering associate and undergraduate degrees in multiple areas such as Criminal Justice, Accounting, Art, and Biology, the school also awards graduate degrees in concentrations such as Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership. Students may apply for grants, scholarships, loans or tuition assistance with the office of Financial Aid --- some deadlines may apply, however.

    College of Coastal Georgia

    • Situated between Altama Avenue and 4th street, the College of Coastal Georgia is located in Brunswick, Georgia. Near Ocean Highway and Golden Isles Parkway, the school is just a few minutes from Interstate 95. With undergraduate coursework in areas such as health informatics and nursing, business administration and education, the College of Coastal Georgia also awards two-year degrees in areas such as Computer Science --- various financial aid programs are available and students may take some on-line classes, as well.

    Augusta State University

    • Along Walton Way near Arsenal Avenue, Augusta State University is located in Augusta-Richmond County close to Interstates 20 and 520. Augusta State awards associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in coursework that includes Criminal Justice, Art and Premedical Illustration and Education --- the school also offers a doctoral program in Education. Students must meet eligibility criteria for entrance into the post-graduate classes --- some coursework at Augusta's College of Education may require additional testing and certification, for example.
