Brush up on all of the basic skills that you learned in school. This includes grammar, punctuation, spelling, basic math, algebra, science, reading, word problems, history and making charts. You can brush up on these skills online at My GED (see References), from home, or by hiring a tutor to help you get ready for the GED test.
Locate a GED test center near your home. Contact it to find out the requirements. You should feel completely confident in your skills.
Make an appointment to take the GED test as soon as possible. You will need to provide the center with your full name, address, phone number (in case changes are made to your appointment) and Social Security number. Sometimes you may be asked about your education. Ask the testing center what materials you will need to bring.
Visit the GED testing center. Bring the materials that the testing center requires.
