How to Get Your GED in Oklahoma

A GED (General Educational Development) is a certification available for adults who did not receive their high school diploma, but are able to pass five portions of a standardized test. This exam is a nationally recognized certification of high school knowledge. The exam includes sections on Language-Arts Writing, Social Studies, Language-Arts Reading, Math and Science. You can prepare for the tests at one of the adult education centers available in Oklahoma or online.

      Determine if you are eligible to take the GED by contacting the GED Hotline at 1-800-626-9433. They can also direct you to your nearest testing center.

      Contact your local testing center to fill out an application and find out the cost of the test. This varies by testing center.

      Prepare for the test either by studying on your own with materials passed out at the testing center, enrolling in preparation classes through the test center or studying online from the privacy of your home.

      Check with the testing center to coordinate a time to take the test once you are prepared.
